Kentucky American Water, a subsidiary of American Water Works Co. Inc., has filed a request with the Kentucky Public Service Commission for new rates due to more than $212 million in system investments. This initiative is part of the company's ongoing commitment to replace aging infrastructure and ensure the delivery of safe, clean, and reliable water services to its over half a million customers across 13 counties. The investments include replacing 30 miles of aging pipelines and upgrading vital components such as storage tanks, pumping stations, and hydrants. If approved, the new rates would result in an approximate $9 monthly increase for the average residential customer. Kentucky American Water also offers bill paying assistance programs for customers, including payment plans and assistance for income-eligible individuals through its H2O Help to Others program.
