BlockBeats News, May 20th, FOX Business reporter Eleanor Terrett reported that the U.S. Senate voted to proceed to formal consideration of the GENIUS Act with a "cloture motion." At least 15 Democratic senators changed their stance to vote in favor, including Cortez Masto, Adam Schiff, Mark Warner, among others.
The bill will now proceed to full consideration, having only passed the cloture motion, not the bill itself. The GENIUS Act will next go through debate and amendment stages in the Senate.
