Raytheon, a business unit of RTX Corporation, has successfully delivered the first AN/TPY-2 radar equipped with a complete Gallium Nitride-populated array to the U.S. Missile Defense Agency. This radar is designed to enhance missile defense capabilities by detecting, tracking, and discriminating ballistic missiles during various flight phases. The integration of Gallium Nitride technology increases sensitivity, expands surveillance capacity, and supports hypersonic missile defense missions. Additionally, the radar incorporates the latest CX6 high-performance computing software to improve target discrimination and provide protection against electronic attacks. This advancement marks a significant step in providing superior defensive capabilities at a reduced cost for the U.S. armed forces.
