WeRide (WRD) said Wednesday that it will expand its robotaxi services to 15 more cities through an extended partnership with Uber (UBER), following deployments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The deal includes a $100 million equity investment from Uber, with WeRide's vehicles integrated into the Uber app and Uber handling local fleet operations, WeRide said.
WeRide also said it launched 24-hour robotaxi routes across central Guangzhou, making it China's first 24-hour autonomous ride-hailing network.
WeRide began driverless testing in Abu Dhabi and introduced its first paid robobus route in Guangzhou, while expanding internationally in Singapore and France, the company said.
