1149 ET - BJ's Wholesale Club is advancing digitally. The Marlborough, Mass., warehouse club says curbside and same-day delivery comprise the majority of its digitally enabled sales. But over the past 18 months, through autonomous inventory robots and the help of artificial intelligence, it's developed and rolled out tools that optimize order batches and pick routes, says CEO Robert Eddy on an earnings call. Eddy adds that this has enabled the company to reduce the time required to pick up an item by over 45%. BJ's saw digitally enabled comp sales grew by 35% year over year in 1Q.
