Shares of energy companies ticked up as traders hedged their bets on a sector that's been under pressure due to anticipation of energy supplies rising just as demand falls.
Oil futures rose slightly for the session and fell slightly for the week as traders await a June 1 meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, which is expected to yield more production increases. Oil futures fell 0.7% to $61.53 a barrel for the week.
