Ginkgo Bioworks promoted its chief accounting officer, Steven Coen, to its top finance role.

Coen will succeed Mark Dmytruk, who intends to resign from his role at the biotech company on May 30 to accept a position at another organization, it said Wednesday.

Coen, who is 59 years old, has more than 30 years of public accounting and corporate finance leadership experience, according to Ginkgo.

Prior to joining the company in 2023, he served as corporate controller for Charles River Laboratories. Coen previously held accounting and finance roles in the technology and medical-device industries, and spent more than 17 years in the audit practice at Deloitte & Touche.

As CFO, Coen will receive an annual base salary of $460,000, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. He will additionally receive a performance-based restricted stock units award for nearly 68,000 shares of the company's Class A common stock.
