U.S. Natural Gas Futures Fall Ahead of Storage Data -- Market Talk

1520 ET - U.S. natural gas futures return some of the previous day's hefty gains with market focus turning to Thursday's storage report, which is expected to show the largest weekly injection so far this year. "Fundamentals are tilting tight beyond early June, but large surplus injections put a cap on prompt upside potential," Gelber & Associates says in a note. Still, early June is projected to see a jump in temperatures that should contribute to higher demand, the firm adds. The EIA is expected to report a 116 Bcf build in underground storage for last week, increasing the surplus over the five-year average to 86 Bcf from 57 Bcf, according to the average estimate in a Wall Street Journal survey of analysts.
