China Maple Leaf Educational Systems Ltd. has reported its financial results for the six months ending February 28, 2025. The company experienced a slight decline in revenue, with total sales decreasing by 3.7% from RMB 658 million in the same period of the previous year to RMB 634 million. The revenue from the People's Republic of China remained relatively stable, experiencing a marginal decrease of 0.1% from RMB 237.5 million to RMB 237.4 million. However, the overseas segment saw a more significant decline of 5.7%, dropping from RMB 420.5 million to RMB 396.6 million. Despite the decline in revenue, China Maple Leaf Educational Systems Ltd. reported a significant turnaround in profitability. The company posted a profit of RMB 117.4 million for the period, a stark contrast to the loss of RMB 42.2 million recorded in the previous year. This resulted in a basic earnings per share of 3.96 RMB cents, compared to a loss of 1.42 RMB cents per share previously. The company also reported an increase in EBITDA, which rose by 26.8% to RMB 280.4 million, while the adjusted EBITDA increased by 12.8% to RMB 281.2 million. The gross profit margin improved slightly to 51.8%, up from 50.4%. In terms of capital expenditures, the company invested RMB 17.2 million primarily for campus expansion in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, compared to RMB 7.5 million in the previous year. The Group's bank balances and cash as of February 28, 2025, amounted to RMB 674.7 million, up from RMB 564.8 million as of August 31, 2024.
