Synaptics (SYNA) said late Wednesday it has appointed Rahul Patel as president and chief executive officer, and a director of the company.

Patel succeeds interim CEO Ken Rizvi, who will continue in his role as the company's chief financial officer.

Patel was most recently the senior vice president and group general manager of the Connectivity, Broadband, & Networking Group at Qualcomm (QCOM), the company said.
