1008 GMT - JD Sports Fashion's performance in the U.S. was weak, but there are positive signs, Peel Hunt analysts say in a research note. The London-listed group reported a 5.5% sales drop in North America for its fiscal first quarter to May 3. The decline was more pronounced than expected, as Visible Alpha consensus had forecast a 1.2% decrease. Much of this relates to the fact that the company is taking a full-price stance in a world of discounting, the analysts say. However, there are promising signs, and the wider sports fashion market could spark into life soon, Peel Hunt says. Shares fall 6.4%. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
