908 Devices Inc., a leader in handheld chemical analysis technology, has announced that the Romanian Customs Authority has fully deployed 27 MX908 devices for border security operations. These handheld mass spectrometers are actively being used for the trace detection and identification of drugs and explosives, enhancing the country's ability to monitor cross-border movement. The order was facilitated through the EU's Customs Control Equipment Instrument and delivered at the end of last year, with training and deployment completed in early 2025. The MX908 devices empower customs officials with real-time identification capabilities, improving the speed and accuracy of inspections.
