Dr. Martens appointed Adidas's Carla Murphy as its new chief brand officer from July 1, reporting to Chief Executive Ije Nwokorie.

The iconic British footwear and clothing brand said Thursday that Murphy will be responsible for driving the company's brand strategy, vision and creative direction. She will also oversee the company's global product, strategy, marketing and sustainability divisions.

Murphy was previously global senior vice president and general manager for Adidas Outdoor based in Germany.

Earlier this week, Dr. Martens appointed Paul Zadoff as its new president of the Americas to lead the next phase of growth in the region.

Zadoff will be responsible for driving the performance, growth and profitability of the Americas business, the company said on Tuesday. The region generates around 37% of the group's overall revenue.

Dr. Martens has struggled over the past years amid weak consumer sentiment and a slow recovery in the U.S., with market expectations tumbling after five profit warnings issued since 2022 and the stock reaching record lows.

However, in a trading update in January, the company said that direct-to-consumer revenue was up 4% in the Americas on a constant-currency basis over the 13 weeks ended Dec. 29. It added that one of the board's key objectives was to return to DTC revenue growth in the Americas region during the second half.

The company is due to report earnings for the year ended March 31 and a strategy update on June 5.
