RBC Wealth Management has added a large advisory team in Idaho from UBS, the latest recruiting win for the U.S. wealth arm of Canada's largest bank.

The eight-person Dalton Bahney and Treinen Wealth Management Group is joining RBC's office in Boise. At UBS, the team managed $1.6 billion in client assets, according to RBC.

UBS declined to comment on the departure.

The team includes advisors Sandra Dalton, William Bahney, Michael Treinen, who is a Certified Financial Planner, and Benjamin Dalton. Also joining RBC are support staffers Jeffrey Potter, who is also a CFP, as well as Breanna Brandon, Ryan Whitney, and Caroline Ren.

"The team was drawn to RBC Wealth Management's culture and access to senior leadership," says Dan Ball, RBC's Rocky Mountain complex director. "They are well respected among their clients and their peers, and we are excited to welcome them to RBC."

One advisor with the UBS team, Charles Powers, isn't making the move to RBC and remains registered with the wirehouse, according to regulatory records.

The move continues RBC's aggressive recruiting campaign to lure advisory teams away from U.S. rivals, often drawing from large banks and brokerages. Some of those recent recruiting wins include a $5 billion team brought on from J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, a $1 billion advisor from U.S. Bank, a pair of Morgan Stanley teams that managed $1.4 billion, and a $2.8 billion team from UBS.

The latest team specializes in working with high-net-worth clients, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, according to its page on UBS' website.

It is a tenured group. Sandra Dalton broke into the industry as a broker in 1984 with Merrill Lynch, registered as an investment advisor in 2000, and jumped to UBS in 2009, regulatory records show. She remains dually registered as a broker and advisor.

Bahney's career traces back to 1974, when he joined Merrill Lynch. Like Dalton, he joined UBS in 2009 and is dually registered as a broker and advisor.

Michael Treinen started at Merrill Lynch in 2008 and moved the next year to UBS. Benjamin Dalton entered the industry with UBS in 2012. They are both dually registered as brokers and advisors.
