FAIRMONT, W.Va., June 2, 2025 - FirstEnergy Corporation has announced the completion of a new utility-scale solar site in Berkeley County, West Virginia. Developed by its subsidiaries, Mon Power and Potomac Edison, the 36-acre project in Marlowe features over 17,000 solar panels, generating up to 5.75 megawatts of renewable energy. This marks the third solar site by FirstEnergy in West Virginia, supporting the state's 2020 legislation allowing up to 200 megawatts of solar generation to meet electricity demands. The initiative aligns with FirstEnergy's commitment to supporting U.S. manufacturing, creating construction jobs, and meeting the increasing demand for renewable energy. Mon Power and Potomac Edison collectively serve hundreds of thousands of customers across West Virginia and Maryland.
