Microsoft (MSFT) is offering to bolster European governments' cybersecurity protections for free following a spate of attacks by presumed state-sponsored hackers, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a senior company executive.
"If we can bring more to Europe of what we have developed in the United States, that will strengthen cybersecurity protection for more European institutions," Microsoft president Brad Smith was cited as saying by Reuters in an interview.
Attacks by actors allegedly aligned with or controlled by China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia have become more sophisticated due to the use of artificial intelligence, the report said.
