BlockBeats News, June 4th, according to a report by Blockworks, two sources familiar with the matter revealed that pump.fun plans to raise $1 billion through a token sale.
Three sources said that the valuation of this token issuance would reach $4 billion.
The sources added that the token will be sold to the public and private investors. Blockworks has not been able to confirm when the token will specifically go live or if it will be issued on the pump.fun platform. However, a post on X (originally Twitter) suggests that the token may be launched in the next two weeks.
If the valuation reaches $4 billion, pump.fun will become the latest "unicorn" startup in the crypto space, thanks in part to the meme coin craze it has fueled over the past year.
pump.fun has not yet responded to multiple requests for comment.
