Topgolf Callaway Stock Slides After Trump Ups Steel Tariffs -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
06-03

1733 ET - Shares of Topgolf Callaway finished 6% lower. This was the first trading session since President Trump said he would double tariffs on imported steel and aluminum. In Topgolf Callaway's securities filings, steel is first in the company's list of materials it generally uses to make Callaway brand golf clubs. The company also states in its risk factor section that the cost and availability of raw materials, including steel for the assembly of golf clubs, could affect its operating results. Company executives haven't previously discussed the potential impact changes in steel tariffs on results, but have noted that Vietnam is the primary country of origin for the company's golf clubs.
