Southwest Airlines Co. has announced a future partnership with Taiwan-based China Airlines, marking Southwest's first trans-Pacific airline collaboration. This interline agreement aims to connect America's largest domestic carrier with China Airlines through shared gateways in California, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, as well as Ontario, California. The partnership is expected to launch in early 2026, with connections available for purchase later this year. This collaboration will allow customers to book itineraries with both airlines under one ticket, offering seamless travel experiences and enhancing connectivity between the U.S. and Asia. Southwest's Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Watterson, emphasized the benefits of this partnership in expanding Southwest's network reach and providing more travel options for customers.
