1458 GMT - The Bank of England is likely to keep interest rates at 4.25% until the end of 2025 due to elevated inflationary pressures, Berenberg economist Andrew Wishart says in a webinar on Tuesday. U.K. companies are expected to raise prices to cover increased labor costs, a move likely to keep U.K. inflation between 3.5% and 4.0% for the rest of 2025, Wishart says. This will prevent the BOE from reducing interest rates again this year. Markets price in a BOE interest rate cut in November and a potential second reduction by the end of 2025, LSEG data show.
