Avita Medical (ASX:AVH) published clinical results that showed two patients with complex full-thickness hand wounds treated with its collagen-based dermal matrix, Cohealyx, achieved autograft readiness within days, rather than the weeks seen with existing dermal matrices, according to a Thursday statement by the company.

One patient showed a well-vascularized wound bed by day five and received an autograft by day seven, while the second patient achieved robust revascularization by day 10 and underwent grafting on day 13, the company said.

Revascularization is the restoration of blood supply to a tissue or organ.

Both showed strong wound bed vascularization and successful graft take, the company added.
