Lotus Resources (ASX:LOT) said that its majority-owned unit, Lotus (Africa)'s environmental and social impact assessment for the Kayelekera uranium project was approved by Malawi's Environment Protection Authority, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

This will allow for the restart of uranium production at the project in the third quarter, the filing said.

The approval is subject to compliance with all of the measures outlined in the environmental and social management plan under the assessment.
