Calix Says Unit to Scale Back Work on US Projects in Wake of Review of US Government Spending

Calix (ASX:CXL) said that its subsidiary business, Leilac, is scaling back work on its projects in the US pending the outcome of ongoing reviews of government spending by the administration of President Donald Trump, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

Leilac's projects were not impacted by the US Department of Energy's recent decision to terminate 24 awards that primarily funded carbon capture and sequestration and decarbonization programs, it noted.

The projects under review include those providing funding for Heirloom's direct air capture project, Project Cypress in Louisiana, as well as for two Leilac carbon capture and storage projects that were selected for awards for engineering studies.

The firm expects that the major project reviews may continue until the end of summer in the US.

Leilac and Calix are ready to increase capacity for project delivery in the US as soon as grant awards are confirmed or other paid customer projects are established, the filing added.

Calix's shares fell 2% in recent trading on Friday.
