JD.com (HKG:9618) is introducing its JD Logistics (HKG:2618) model to Saudi Arabia, The Standard reported Wednesday, citing mainland media.

The report said the Chinese e-commerce firm has built a local team of over 1,000 employees and opened multiple warehouses across the Middle East.

In February, JD Logistics and Chinese automaker Chery jointly established one of Saudi Arabia's largest automotive spare parts centers, the report said. It added that the facility stores tens of thousands of small parts as well as large, complex components such as engines and transmissions, and serves vehicles from five major car brands across the Middle East and North Africa.

The e-commerce giant's unit has also signed a global supply chain partnership with a Chinese new energy vehicle brand, becoming its first logistics service provider for warehousing and distribution in the Middle East, the report added.

A JD Logistics source told mainland media there was "no comment at this time," adding the company would "share further information promptly when available," The Standard reported.
