Private capital juggernaut Apollo was selling its circa 10 per cent stake in Challenger, the annuities and funds management business capitalised at $5.4 billion on the ASX, after Monday’s closing bell in a deal that gives Japanese life insurance giant TAL Dai-ichi Life a pre-bid stake in the Australian player.
