The Minnesota State Patrol urged the public not to attend planned demonstrations across the state Saturday "out of an abundance of caution," according to a post on X, following the shootings of two state lawmakers. Gov. Tim Walz also implored residents to stay away from rallies until the suspect is apprehended.

Along with its warning, the state patrol also posted on X a photo of a pile of papers in the suspect's vehicle that included "No Kings" signs that appeared to be handwritten.
