1015 ET - CarMax is aiming to improve its operational efficiency and reduce its costs. "A key driver of these efficiency gains and experience enhancements has been our strategic deployment of AI technology across our operations," Finance Chief Enrique Mayor-Mora says on a call with analysts. The used-car retailer launched an AI-powered virtual assistant during the recent quarter, which resulted in a 30% improvement in containment rate, he notes. (A chatbot containment rate measures how many customer inquiries can be resolved using the virtual agent in place of a live agent.)
