Airlink, Southern Africa's leading full-service airline, has announced its plan to lease 10 new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft from Azorra, a Fort Lauderdale-based lease, finance, and asset management firm. This move will expand Airlink's current fleet of 68 aircraft, with deliveries from Embraer's facilities in Brazil expected from later this year through to 2027. The new aircraft promise significant fuel savings of up to 29% compared to Airlink's existing E195s, enhancing economic efficiencies and reducing emissions. This fleet expansion will also support Airlink's plans to increase capacity and expand its network across 45 destinations in 15 countries. The E195-E2, powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, offers 33% more seating capacity than the current E190s, allowing Airlink to lower unit costs on high-demand routes and explore new destinations within sub-Saharan Africa.
