Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) started surface exploration at the Fish mine in Western Australia, targeting extensions to the known mineralization and mine life, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The surface exploration drilling includes eight planned holes totaling 2,620 meters, aiming to test two key areas beneath the planned Fish underground development and current resource area, the filing said.
Meanwhile, mining activities are progressing on schedule, with development ore expected in the coming weeks and first stope production on track for the September quarter, per the filing.
Shares fell nearly 2% in morning trade on Wednesday.
