ai16z Founder: X Platform Says Paying $50,000 Monthly Enterprise Licensing Fee Will Resolve Issues, Considering Legal Action

BlockBeats News, on June 18, the founder of a16z posted on Farcaster stating, “X reached out to me, claiming that we violated certain terms of service, such as selling data or bypassing API keys to sell certain content, but we have never done these things—neither now nor in the future.

They directly sent me a link to some open-source code I shared, using it as justification for deleting our account. Most of that code wasn’t even written by me; it was pieced together from other open-source projects.

X said that if we paid $50,000 per month for an enterprise license, they would drop the issue. Right now, we only spend $1,000 per month for Yellow Verification and an additional $200 per month for developer access. This is blatant extortion—completely unreasonable and something that should not even be legal.

I don’t want to be a part of this kind of system—it goes against everything I stand for. I am considering whether to take legal action on this matter.”

Previously, it was reported that the official X account for ElizaOS (@elizaOS) and the personal account of its founder, Shaw (@shawmakesmagic), were both frozen.
