Amazon (AMZN) has told some US employees to relocate to other cities to be closer to their managers and teams, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the situation.
The employees are being asked to move to cities such as Seattle, Washington; Arlington, Virginia, and Washington DC, the people reportedly said. The relocation policy would affect thousands of workers on several teams, one of the people told Bloomberg.
The company is informing the employees mostly in one-on-one meetings and town halls rather than through mass emails, according to the report.
Amazon did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
