Financial stocks were advancing pre-bell Tuesday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) 0.9% higher recently.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 2.6% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 3.4% lower.
Mastercard (MA) shares were up almost 3% after the company said it is expanding its partnership with Fiserv (FI) to integrate the company's new FIUSD token across Mastercard's global payments network. Fiserv shares were more than 4% higher premarket.
Spain has cleared BBVA's (BBVA) bid to acquire Sabadell, but the lenders will have to keep assets separated and operate as different entities for the next three years, Bloomberg reported, citing comments made by Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo during a news conference. BBVA shares were up more than 2% pre-bell.
Visa (V) has defeated a proposed class action lawsuit from consumers who claimed the company failed to warn them that thieves could drain their Vanilla prepaid gift cards, multiple media reports said. Shares of Visa were up more than 2% premarket.
