POET Technologies (POET) said Tuesday said it has signed agreements with NationGate Solutions to assemble and test optical engines at NationGate's facility in Penang, Malaysia.
The optical engines include a fiber-attach unit tailored for one of POET's customers, the company said. Financial details were not available.
The NationGate deal is on top of a manufacturing agreement with Globetronics, the company said, adding that Globetronics has shipped 800G optical engine samples to customers and expects to ship an order backlog of 1.6T samples in Q3.
