General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a division of General Dynamics, has secured a $580 million Integrated Base Defense Sustainment Support task order aimed at bolstering the security and readiness of U.S. Army bases globally. The contract, awarded in May, includes an initial one-year period with the possibility of extending for four additional years. Under this task order, GDIT will maintain critical force protection systems such as radars, cameras, and sensors, ensuring their operational availability in various challenging and high-threat environments. These systems are vital in safeguarding military installations, personnel, and infrastructure against threats like unauthorized access, drone activity, and cyberattacks. GDIT plans to utilize its Cove AI Ops Digital Accelerator to enhance logistics support and streamline processes, thereby optimizing system performance and reducing operational costs.
