Air Hong Kong, a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., has transitioned into an all-Airbus A330F freighter airline, marking a significant milestone in its nearly 40-year history. This change follows the successful completion of a seven-year re-fleeting programme, which involved replacing the older A300-600F freighters with the more advanced A330F models. The A330F freighters offer 25% more payload and volume capacity, enabling Air Hong Kong to carry more cargo, especially e-commerce shipments, and expand its reach to new destinations like Bahrain and Sydney. This transition aligns with the Cathay Group's commitment to enhancing the Hong Kong international aviation hub and achieving sustainability goals through increased fuel efficiency and reduced noise levels. The airline's Chief Operating Officer, Clarence Tai, expressed gratitude to all partners involved and emphasized the new aircraft's role in supporting the growth of Hong Kong's air cargo sector.
