IRIS Metals (ASX:IR1) completed test mining and bulk sample collection at its Beecher project in South Dakota, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

About 40 tonnes of spodumene mineralized pegmatite were mined and crushed, with 15 tonnes packaged for transport to a processing laboratory for further testing, the filing said.

Shares rose 2% in midday trade Wednesday.
