South Korean automobile parts maker SNT Holdings (KRX:036530) and its chairman Choi Pyeong-gyu became the largest shareholders of machine tools manufacturer SMEC (KOSDAQ:099440) after an over-the-counter purchase.
SNT Holdings holds a 7.68% shareholding in SMEC while Choi holds 3.37%, effective Tuesday, June 24, SMEC said in a filing with Korea Exchange on Wednesday.
Shares of SMEC jumped nearly 30% at market close on Wednesday.
