Asian Equities Traded in the US as ADRs Rise in Thursday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts rose Thursday morning with the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index climbing 0.7% to 2,315.86

From North Asia, the gainers were led by utilities company Korea Electric Power (KEP) and online game developer The9 (NCTY), which rose 5.9% and 3.1% respectively. They were followed by financial services company Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) and semiconductor company Himax Technologies (HIMX), which both advanced 1.4%.

The decliners from North Asia were led by fintech firm Maase (MAAS) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group (VNET), which dropped 4.5% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by education company 17 Education & Technology Group (YQ) and fintech company LexinFintech (LX), which lost 2.3% and 2.2% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB), which were up 4.1% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by financial services company ICICI Bank (IBN) and IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY), which increased 1.8% and 0.9% respectively.

The lone decliner from South Asia was pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which eased 0.5%.
