Chilwa Minerals Receives First Heavy Mineral Assays at Malawi Deposit

Chilwa Minerals (ASX:CHW) received first heavy mineral sands assays from the sonic drill program at the Bimbi deposit within the Chilwa project in Malawi, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

Total heavy mineral (THM) results at the prospect include 2.4 meters at about 14% THM, 2.9 meters at 12% THM, and 2.3 meters at 16% THM from surface, the filing said.

The results will be included in a new mineral resource estimate for a subset of identified deposits, set to be released by the end of the month, per the filing.

Shares rose nearly 2% in morning trade Friday.
