Alpha HPA (ASX:A4N) said it is in continuous production at its Queensland-based HPA First project stage one, precursor production facility across its full range of high-purity aluminum material, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The first stage is currently producing over 400 kilograms per week of ultra-high purity alumina hydroxides, over 900 kilograms per week of aluminum nitrate precursor crystal, and over 300 kilograms per week of high-purity aluminum tablets.

The firm added that it is also progressing with the construction of the second stage of the project. It awarded a major civil works contract for the project, and the contractor began mobilization.

Offsite fabrication of long lead equipment, particularly for the key solvent extraction circuit, is also progressing, per the filing.

Its unit Alpha Sapphire completed 200-millimeter sapphire wafers, which were delivered to a major global semiconductor original equipment manufacturer. It reached a conditional agreement on the sale of a further 2 metric tonnes of sapphire boules over the remainder of the year.

The firm is in the study phase for the Alpha Polaris project.

Its shares rose 3% in recent trading on Thursday.
