MicroPort Scientific (HKG:0853) tapped Jonathan W Chen as co-chief executive of the company on a rotating basis, according to a bourse filing Friday.

Shares gained over 2% in late-morning trade Monday.

Chen's appointment is subject to rotation on an annual basis and adjustment based on performance, the medical company said.

Meanwhile, the company appointed Brian Yale Chang as chief medical officer.

Both appointments took effect June 27, MicroPort said.
