Packaging Corp. of America (PKG) shares were up more than 3% after the company said it has agreed to purchase the containerboard business of Greif (GEF) for $1.80 billion in cash.
International Paper (IP) shares were 0.5% lower after the company said it has closed the sale of five European box plants to Palm Group.
Skechers USA's (SKX) go-private buyout by private equity firm 3G Capital was approved by the European Commission, the Commission said. Skechers USA shares were down 0.1% pre-bell.
