The S&P 500 gained about 0.6% in morning trading, on pace to set a new record end-of-day high when today's holiday-shortened session ends.
It had notched new record closes on Friday, Monday and Wednesday, the first such milestones since February:
The Nasdaq Composite was also on course for a new closing high. Both indexes set intraday records.
