Hershey Kisses Artificial Dyes Goodbye -- Market Talk

1642 ET - Hershey is joining the ranks of food makers foregoing artificial dyes. The Pennsylvania chocolatier says that it would remove the dyes from its products by the end of 2027, a move that will affect goods including Twizzlers, Jolly Ranchers and Reese's Pieces. Food companies from Kraft Heinz to General Mills have pledged to strip artificial dyes from their products recently, following a push by RFK Jr. and lawmakers across numerous states. A Hershey spokesperson said the company made the decision to remove the dyes in light of "a patchwork of state regulations emerging," which Hershey believes is creating confusion and will increase costs for consumers. "We firmly believe a strong national food ingredient approval system is the best way to ensure food safety, affordability and quality in the marketplace," the spokesperson says.
