Butte, Mont. - July 2, 2025 - NorthWestern Energy Group Inc. has announced a significant development in its ongoing regulatory review process. The Montana Public Service Commission $(PSC.AU)$ has accepted revised electric rates proposed by NorthWestern Energy, resulting in a reduction in temporary electric base rates that have been in effect since May 23. This adjustment, effective July 2, is the outcome of a partial agreement with key stakeholders, including the Montana Consumer Counsel, the Montana Large Customer Group, the Federal Executive Agencies, and Walmart Inc. The revised rates will remain in place until the PSC reaches a final decision on the regulatory rate review. For a typical residential customer, this change translates to a monthly bill reduction of $4.48. NorthWestern Energy emphasizes its commitment to transparency and maintaining reliable, low-cost energy solutions for its customers. If the final decision by the Montana PSC results in even lower rates, customers are assured of receiving a refund with interest for any differences.
