First Graphene (ASX:FGR) started testing graphene materials provided by Australian Sunlight Group for a graphene-enhanced resin system, which will be tested against the firm's PureGRAPH material, as it seeks to create an impermeable tank as part of a project to create hydrogen storage, according to a Thursday Australian Securities Exchange filing.

The HyPStore project seeks to develop and commercialize light-weight, impermeable cryogenic tanks, designed for the safe storage and transportation of liquid hydrogen. Nine entities from Australia and the UK are involved in the project.

The company also launched a 10-month project in partnership with Imperial College London and University College London to help in upscaling chemically modified graphene for use in 3D printing of metals.

It received funding to enhance 3D printing of metal components for aerospace applications through the addition of graphene material, the filing said.
