Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) group capacity fell 2.7% year on year in May, according to a Friday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
Long-haul available seat kilometers (ASKs) fell 2.2%, domestic ASKs dropped 5.5%, and short-haul international ASKs declined 2.2% year on year.
The airline carried 1.1 million passengers in May, down 2.5% on the year-earlier period, per the filing.
The passenger load factor was 82%, an improvement from nearly 80% a year earlier.
The company also expects to operate 1.7 million seats between New Zealand and Australia from October to March 2026.
