This high-resolution imaging tool is designed to enhance visualization of tissue microstructures during surgery. The adoption follows the hospital's participation in a pivotal trial of Perimeter's next-generation B-Series device, which incorporates artificial intelligence technology and is currently under FDA evaluation for breast-conserving surgeries. The S-Series OCT, cleared by the FDA in 2021, is particularly effective for visualizing surgical margins and identifying features such as blood vessels and glands at the cellular level.
