0927 ET - Uncertainty about how tariffs will impact inflation is likely to keep the Fed on hold, since employment remains robust. "The big picture remains the same," AllianceBernstein's Eric Winograd writes, adding that the labor market is "holding up even in an uncertain economic environment." He says the Fed could cut rates soon "if they wanted to" since inflation data has been mild, but it is more likely to wait until September "to be confident about the inflation side of things."
