1317 ET - JetBlue and United Airlines want the DOT to disregard complaints about their partnership raised last month by Spirit Airlines. Spirit had asked DOT to closely scrutinize the arrangement, dubbed Blue Sky, alleging that it would neutralize competition and push fares higher. The opposite is true, JetBlue and United argue in a new filing. They say the two carriers will continue to compete as they always have and their partnership will give customers more choices and facilitate United's entrance to JFK. JetBlue says time is of the essence as the struggling carrier looks for a new path forward. (alison.sider@wsj.com; @alyrose)
